How to Create a New Worksheet

Welcome to the guide on creating your first worksheet in Assessain. You can start in two ways:


✏️ Option 1: Create from Scratch Using Our Editor

Start fresh and build your worksheet directly in our intuitive editor.

1. Use Markdown-formatted text

  • Write and structure your content using simple Markdown syntax.
  • Supports headers, lists, emphasis, and more.

Examples:

Write a short paragraph explaining **why the water cycle is important**.

Correct the sentence: *he go to school every day.*  
(Use correct **verb tense**.)

What is the output of this code? `print(2 ** 3)`  
(*Hint: ** means power in Python.*)

Which of the following statements is ~not true~ about photosynthesis?

What does the formula H~2~O stand for?

Calculate: 10^2^ × 2 = ?

Choose the correct symbol: 5 __ 7  
(Options: ≠, =, >, <)

Mark the **correct spelling**:  
- recieve  
- recive  
- **receive**  

Which number is greater: ⅓ or 1/4? Use **>** or **<** to show your answer.

Use the correct word in a sentence: **there / their / they're**

2. Add Open-ended Questions with Criteria

  • Let students respond freely.
  • Define evaluation criteria manually or use AI assistance to generate and refine them.
  • Use AI testing to simulate how student answers will be scored before assigning.

3. Add Multiple-Choice Questions

  • Supports multiple correct/incorrect options.
  • ✅ Use a cross (✖) to mark the correct answer — not a checkmark or any other symbol.

4. Include Images

  • Add visuals to your questions or instructions.
  • Drag & drop or paste directly into the editor.

5. Attach Extra Files

  • Useful for longer reading texts, external resources, or instructions.
  • Students will see the file before answering.

Already have materials prepared? Upload and enhance them.

  • Supported formats: .pdf, .docx, .txt, and others.
  • The file will be processed and editable in our editor.
  • You can refine it later by adding criteria, reformatting, or inserting AI-enhanced questions.

🔒 Public vs. Private Worksheets

When saving your worksheet, you’ll have two options:

  • Private:

    • Only accessible to you and assigned students.
  • Public:

    • Appears in our worksheet gallery.
    • Can be shared with a link or discovered by other teachers.
